L.M. ElliottVirginia author and 2023 VLA Cardinal Cup winner L.M. Elliott will speak on Thursday, October 17 at 1:00PM in Marriott Ballroom 4. At VLA she'll be discussing Suspect Red, about the censorship and “witch hunts” of 1950s’ McCarthyism, and WALLS, a Kirkus Best YA Books of the Year set in 1961 Germany as the infamous Berlin Wall goes up. Her upcoming Truth, Lies, and the Questions in Between (about Watergate) joins these last two books to form a loose trilogy about the Cold War, fraught political eras, and the dangers of disinformation, censorship, and polarization.
