Searching for an Academic Library job? Want to be able to pick the brains of someone who has been through the process before? The Virginia Library Association is hosting a FREE webinar featuring librarians who have been on both sides of the interview table. This Q&A session will allow you to ask all your burning questions about resumes, cover letters, phone interviews, presentations, and all the other facets of an academic job search. This webinar is sponsored and organized by the VLA Continuing Education Committee.

The webinar is July 19th from noon – 1pm, so bring your lunch! The webinar will be recorded and archived for future viewing.

Panelist Bios

Kathy Bradshaw

A. Kathy Bradshaw is currently the Assistant University Librarian for Organizational Development for Virginia Commonwealth University Libraries in Richmond, Virginia.  Kathy is responsible for strategic leadership and planning related to development, implementation and assessment of the Libraries overall organization design.  She has an MLIS from Rutgers University; an MS in Human Resources Management from the New School for Social Research; and a BA from Spelman College.  Prior to coming to VCU, Kathy served as the Human Resource Librarian for University Libraries at the University of North Carolina Greensboro.  Before becoming a librarian, Kathy worked in various human resources positions within financial services. 

John Glover

John Glover is the Humanities Research Librarian at Virginia Commonwealth University. He liaises with VCU's humanities department and programs, teaches workshops and information literacy (course-integrated and for-credit), provides research support in many different modes, and contributes to or directs various digital humanities projects. He is active in service and scholarship, locally and nationally. He holds bachelor's degrees in History and Latin from the University of Washington, an M.A. in history from Ohio State, and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Washington.
