DESCRIPTION: Pamunkey Regional Library (PRL) is seeking applications for the position of Collection Management Librarian. PRL is a seven-branch library system that serves approximately 140,000 residents in the counties of Goochland and Hanover. The library has a collection of over 175,000 items and an annual collection budget of over $600,000.

This position coordinates responsibilities in any area of collection management, including acquisitions, cataloging, and weeding. Recommends materials for purchase, oversees specific procedures for processing and procuring materials, and ensures consistency in application of cataloging principles. Supervises and instructs staff. This position works closely with and is supervised by the Collection Strategy Librarian.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited library school. 2 years of closely related library experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position. Certification as a professional librarian by the Library of Virginia is required within 6 months of employment. Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
