Introduction

Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL) is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Librarian at the Chinn Park Regional Library. This full-time supervisory position is a key member of the Makerspace and Public Services team at Chinn Park Library. This role will help provide outstanding library experiences to our diverse and busy community. ABOUT THIS ROLE

Run the day-to-day operations of the Chinn Park Makerspace once it opens.
Plans and delivers makerspace programming and outreach for the community.
Assists patrons with library services, including reference, circulation, readers advisory, and working with digital devices. 
Plans and delivers training in relationships to new equipment and makerspace tools. 
Member of the branch’s management team, supervising direct reports
Administrative tasks such as collection of statistics, maintenance of community resources, and providing information for monthly reports.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in library or information science and one year of library systems experience.

PREFERENCES

Experience supervising professional and paraprofessional staff.
Experience planning and implementing programming and outreach.
Experience working in a public services library.
Experience with collection maintenance.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
 
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This is a full-time, exempt position located at Chinn Park Regional Library.
 Library hours of operation are Monday through Wednesday, 9 am to 8 pm, Thursday through Saturday, 9 am to 5pm, and Sunday, 12 to 5pm. The schedule includes days, one evening a week, and rotating weekends. Flexibility is paramount, and the schedule may vary depending upon the library's needs.
 
ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $70,921.50 - $83,272.79
