The Newport News Public Library System is seeking a Senior Librarian for Adult Reference to join the library's team of professionals in providing high quality, dynamic programs and services.

This position is responsible for performing advanced professional work in the Adult Reference Department to include oversight for the development, planning, and delivering of programming; provision of reference services; collection development; supervision of staff; and facility management.  Have considerable knowledge of library administration principles, methods, practice of Library Science as well as knowledge of computers and information services. Must be creative, motivated and have a sense of humor.  This position participates in various library committees.   

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program; extensive experience (minimum of three years) as a professional librarian with some (minimum of one year) supervisory experience. Salary range is $55, 548.36 to $95, 703.29 based on education and experience.
