The Virginia Library Association is thrilled to announce our Keynote Speaker: Author Margot Lee Shetterly, who documented the contributions of real-life heroes from Hampton, Virginia in her New York Times bestseller and inspiration for the box-office hit, Hidden Figures. In her talk (October 12 at 10:00am), Shetterly will celebrate these unsung heroes, teasing out issues of race, gender, science, and innovation against the backdrop of WWII and the Civil Rights Era.
